The regular monthly meeting was held at the Kalamazoo Red Cross on April 20, 2006.
At 7:00 PM. the eating of the Potluck began.
President Dave Schneider, AB8DS, called the meeting to order at 7:40 PM.
Minutes of the March meeting were reviewed.
Treasurer’s Report was unavailable. An unofficial report suggested a balance of $2181.
Hamfest Committee: We are now listed on the ARRL web site.
RACES: There will be IS700 training at the May RACES meeting. This years SET will be a wide spread power outage.
Old Business and announcements:
Wednesday Open station nights will continue in the fall.
Next board meeting is May 9, 2006 7:00 PM at the Red Cross.
Field Day: is June 24-25. We now have written confirmation form the Kalamazoo County Parks department for our use of Prairie View Park Area 1 for field day. We need someone to organize the food. Art is coordinating the stations with the following reservations already in: 80 phone, K8EXF; 40 phone, AB8DS; 40 CW, K8WPI, AB8EO; 20 CW, W8DO; 20 phone WB8ZVV, 15 phone, WD8IDJ; VHF, KA8AOB.
Dave Clark reported that the Big Project will have an exam at the end of May or June. Three of the students are likely to pass. We are looking for a new home for the Big Project. The Access Center in interested in working with us. KRESA has also shown some interest.
Radio Camp will be in the evenings the week before field day, June 19-23. Activities will run from about 5:30pm to 8:30pm at the Oakwood community Center. Volunteers are needed.
“Merger” discussions still need to be scheduled between the boards.
The Boy Scouts will be working on their Radio Merit Badge the week after field day. Volunteers are needed.
New Business: We will have more potlucks in the future.
