KARC Board Minutes for June 7th, 2007

The KARC monthly Board meeting was held on June 7th at the American Red Cross Chapter House in Kalamazoo at 7:00PM with the meeting called to order by the president Charlie Chapman.

Minutes from the last meeting were read and no changes noted. Minutes from the last meeting were reviewed and a motion was made by Dave Nawatny to approve. The motion was supported and passed.

The treasurer, Jim Gardner provided the treasurers report of which $1000 is ear marked for education. The general fund is at $1409.33 at this point. A motion was made by John Mathieson to accept the treasurers report. The motion was support and passed unanimously.

Plans for Field Day were discussed and it is estimated that we will have 50 people for dinner. John Tucker will supply the logging program. It was noted that we will need charcoal. Dave Schneider has the field day supply list and members for the field day team will get with him to get it printed up. A motion was made by John Mathieson to authorize $200 for food for field day. The motion was supported and passed with the limitations of up to $200 as an amendment. It is anticipated that the K8KZO Club will be contributing to this as well.

There was discussion of the DCP or Disaster Communication Project which was funded by local grants and had property assigned to the American Red Cross. Charlie has talked to Marilyn Vineyard. It was decided that the property has been amortized over the past few years and has little if any resale value.

Jim Gardner reports that he has not heard back from the IRS on our 501.3C status. He will give them a call to find out.

Jim Gardner moved that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was support and passed and the meeting was closed at 8:43PM
