Kalamazoo Amateur Radio Club, January 2007 Annual Meeting

The Annual meeting was held at the Kalamazoo Red Cross on January 18, 2007.


President Dave Schneider (AB8DS), called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM.

Approximately 22 members were present.



Treasurer’s Report: There is 2405.91 in the General fund account and $170.64 in the maintenance account.

Old Business and announcements:


Public Service: MS Walk is April 28th and the Walk America is the next weekend, May 5th.


Races: A schedule will be developed of RACES training for the coming year. Skywarn training will be March 19th.


Big Project – After the holiday break, we now have 10 students.


Hamfest: The Hamfest date and location have been set for October 14th at the Kalamazoo County Fair Grounds.


Technical: The 147.00 repeater’s amplifier has failed and the repeater is now running at 10 watts. It is about $350 to fix the old repeater and $650 for a new one.


Elections: With Charlie Chapman(KB8SFR) and John Mathieson (KC8ZTJ) already nominated in December, nominations were re-opened. Having no new nominations,. Dave KC8WLD moved and Piran AB8HU moved to close nominations.

As there are only two nominations for the two open board positions, Jim Keesler (K8EXF) moved and Piran (AB8HU) seconded to accept the two candidates by unanimous consent.

The Motion Passed and Charlie and John were elected to the board.


New Business: None

Several items were sold at the silent auction then a motion to adjourn by Charlie (KB8SFR), second by Piran (AB8HU) passed.


The meeting was adjourned at 7:55 pm.
